Who we are. Pocket Nation is operated by KIKOMEDY GmbH, trading as Kikomedy Studio (the “Company,” “we,” “us”), Arthur-Scheyer-Strasse 3, 9424 Rheineck, Switzerland. Pocket Nation is operated from Switzerland.
Contact. Privacy enquiries and data-rights requests: info@pocketnation.xyz (primary). Company contact: studio@kikomedy.com.
The short version: we identify you by your wallet’s public address, we use your location only while you play, we don’t sell your data, we don’t run ads, and the only outside services that touch your data are our hosting, backup, email, and crash-reporting providers.
What we collect, why, and our legal basis
| Data | Why we process it | Legal basis (GDPR, for EU/EEA users) |
|---|---|---|
| Wallet public address (account identity) | Create and run your account | Performance of our contract with you |
| Location (GPS), while playing | Place you on the map and resolve which tile you’re standing in (capture / attack / camp / treasure) | Your consent, given via the device location permission — withdrawable at any time |
| Step counts (only when you use the walk feature) | Award an in-game walking bonus | Your consent (you choose to submit them) |
| Gameplay data (faction, nation name, currency balance, territory, battles, ranking) | Run the game and its features | Performance of our contract |
| Server access logs (IP address, time, address requested, status, browser/app user agent, referrer) | Security, abuse prevention, troubleshooting | Our legitimate interests |
| Crash & error diagnostics (via Sentry) | Detect and fix faults; keep the app stable | Our legitimate interests |
We never see or store your seed phrase or private keys — every signature happens inside your own wallet app. Your public address is a blockchain identifier; treat it as pseudonymous. We keep your most recent location point together with the time it was recorded (each update overwrites both) — not a movement history; note that because some map requests carry coordinates in the web address, your location may briefly appear in the server access logs above and in the crash & error diagnostics we receive through Sentry.
On your device
The app keeps your login session token in your device’s secure storage. In ordinary app storage it keeps your most recent position point (so the map can open where you last were), a daily step count, some settings such as faction and sound preference, and details of the last error the app encountered. This data stays on your device and is removed when you uninstall the app or clear its data.
Who processes your data (recipients)
We do not sell your data or share it with advertisers or third-party analytics companies. We use the following processor categories:
- Hosting / server infrastructure: EDIS GmbH — servers in Switzerland.
- Encrypted off-site backups: Infomaniak Swiss Backup — Switzerland.
- Crash & error diagnostics: Sentry — ingest in the EU (Germany).
- Email / communications: Hostpoint AG — Switzerland (handles mail sent to our contact addresses).
Public leaderboards show only your nation’s display name and ranking — never your wallet address. We may disclose data where required by law.
About the crash diagnostics: Sentry is configured not to intentionally attach wallet addresses or default personal identifiers; technical events may still include device model, OS version, route, timing, performance and error information — and where a requested web address carries coordinates, your location can appear in that data.
How long we keep it (retention criteria)
- Location: we keep your latest position point and the time it was recorded, both overwritten with each update — we do not keep a movement history. Separately, the coordinates where you found a Camp are stored for as long as that Camp exists, and the coordinates of a capture in progress are stored for the duration of that capture and then deleted.
- Server access logs: rotated and deleted after about 14 days.
- Account & gameplay data: kept while your account exists, until a verified deletion request (below).
- Crash / error data: retained by Sentry for a limited period per its retention schedule.
- Backups: encrypted off-site backups follow a rotating schedule of 7 daily, 4 weekly, 12 monthly and 2 yearly snapshots. A snapshot cannot be edited after it is written, so data deleted from the live system can persist in older snapshots for up to two years before the schedule removes them.
International transfers
Your data is processed in Switzerland and the EU. Switzerland and the EU/EEA mutually recognise each other as providing an adequate level of data protection, so these transfers do not require additional safeguards.
Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, and objection, and (where applicable) data portability. You may also lodge a complaint with the competent authority — the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC) for Switzerland, or your local data protection authority (DPA) if you are in the EU/EEA. To exercise a right, contact info@pocketnation.xyz.
Deleting your data
To request deletion, contact info@pocketnation.xyz. Because your account identity is a wallet, we verify ownership by asking you to sign a short challenge with that wallet before we act. On a verified request we will delete or anonymize the data we hold about you, except data we are required to retain for legal, security, fraud-prevention, or other-players’-record-integrity reasons, which we keep only as long as necessary. Encrypted backups cannot be edited after they are written, so we cannot remove one person’s data from an existing snapshot. Residual copies disappear as the schedule rotates them out — for the oldest snapshots, up to two years.
Children
Pocket Nation is intended for users aged 16 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16. If you believe someone under 16 has provided us data, contact us and we will remove it.
Security
Traffic between the app and our servers is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your data.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will revise the “Last updated” date above and, where changes are significant, take reasonable steps to make you aware of them.
